ABOUT

Sustainability Commitment

Sustainability is not a standalone initiative at Western Electrical - it is a core principle embedded across every facet of our operations. From raw material sourcing to end-of-life battery recycling, we hold ourselves accountable to the highest environmental and social standards, ensuring that our growth never comes at the expense of future generations.

Our sustainability framework rests on four interconnected pillars: environmental stewardship, social impact and responsibility, consumer issues, and stakeholder engagement. Each pillar reflects our commitment to transparent, responsible, and forward-thinking business practices that create lasting value for our employees, customers, communities, and the planet.

ENVIRONMENTAL STEWARDSHIP

Environmental pollution and climate change are among the most pressing challenges of our time. As a battery manufacturer, we recognize our responsibility to minimize our environmental footprint and actively contribute to a cleaner, healthier planet. Our environmental stewardship initiatives span the full lifecycle of our products - from production processes to end-of-life recycling.

Recycling and Circular Economy
We have established a comprehensive lead acid battery recycling program that collects and processes used batteries across our distribution network. Lead, the primary material in our products, is infinitely recyclable without loss of quality. Through closed-loop recycling, we recover lead, plastic, and acid from spent batteries, reprocessing them into raw materials for new production. This circular approach significantly reduces the need for virgin lead extraction, cuts energy consumption, and prevents hazardous materials from entering landfills.

Environmental Awareness and Culture
Sustainability begins with people. We cultivate an environmental awareness culture across all our facilities through regular training programs, workshops, and internal campaigns. Every employee - from production line operators to senior management - understands their role in achieving our environmental objectives. We encourage grassroots initiatives and reward teams that propose innovative solutions to reduce waste, save energy, or improve processes.

Waste Management
Our waste management system follows the principles of reduce, reuse, and recycle. We classify all waste streams - solid, liquid, and hazardous - and apply targeted treatment protocols for each category. Production scrap, packaging materials, and process chemicals are segregated at source, collected in dedicated containers, and processed through certified waste treatment partners. We continuously monitor waste generation metrics and set annual reduction targets to drive improvement.

Water Conservation
Water is a precious resource, and we are committed to using it responsibly. Our manufacturing facilities employ closed-loop water circulation systems that reduce freshwater intake by reusing process water across multiple production stages. Wastewater is treated to meet or exceed regulatory discharge standards before release. We also harvest rainwater at our Jiangxi facility, supplementing non-potable water needs for cooling and cleaning operations.

ISO 14001 Environmental Management System
All our manufacturing facilities are certified to ISO 14001, the international standard for environmental management systems. This certification demonstrates our systematic approach to identifying, controlling, and reducing the environmental impacts of our operations. We conduct regular internal audits, management reviews, and third-party surveillance audits to maintain compliance and drive continuous improvement. Our environmental policy, objectives, and targets are documented, communicated, and reviewed annually.

SOCIAL IMPACT & RESPONSIBILITY
Our commitment to sustainability extends beyond environmental concerns to encompass the wellbeing of our workforce, the safety of our products, and the rights of every individual in our value chain. We believe that a responsible business is one that values people as much as performance.

Occupational Health and Safety
We prioritize the physical and mental wellbeing of every employee. Our facilities are certified to ISO 45001, the international standard for occupational health and safety management systems. We maintain rigorous safety protocols, conduct regular risk assessments, and provide comprehensive personal protective equipment (PPE) to all production personnel. Safety training is mandatory and ongoing, covering hazard identification, emergency response, and safe material handling. Our goal is zero workplace accidents, and we continuously invest in engineering controls, automation, and safety culture to achieve it.

Product Safety and Quality
The safety of our batteries extends to the end user. We design and manufacture our products to meet or exceed international safety standards, including IEC, JIS, and SAE specifications. Every battery undergoes rigorous testing - including overcharge, short-circuit, vibration, and thermal stress tests - before leaving our facilities. We provide clear installation, usage, and maintenance guidelines to help customers handle our products safely throughout their service life.

Employee Development and Wellbeing
We invest in our people because they are the foundation of our success. Our employee development programs include technical skills training, leadership development, and cross-functional rotation opportunities. We offer competitive compensation packages, comprehensive social insurance, and health benefits that meet or exceed local regulatory requirements. We foster an inclusive, respectful workplace where diversity is valued, and every employee has the opportunity to grow professionally and personally.

Human Rights
We are committed to upholding fundamental human rights across our operations and supply chain. We enforce strict policies against forced labor, child labor, and discrimination, and we promote fair wages, reasonable working hours, and freedom of association throughout our organization.

CONSUMER ISSUES
We believe that informed consumers make sustainable choices. We provide transparent, accurate information about our products - including performance specifications, expected service life, maintenance requirements, and proper disposal methods. Our customer service teams are trained to help customers select the right battery for their application, maximizing product longevity and minimizing unnecessary replacement.

At the end of a battery's service life, we guide consumers toward proper recycling channels. Through our distribution network and partnerships with certified recyclers, we make it easy for customers to return used batteries for responsible processing. This closed-loop approach not only recovers valuable materials but also prevents environmental contamination from improper disposal.

STAKEHOLDER ENGAGEMENT AND COLLABORATION

Sustainability is a collaborative effort. We engage actively with a broad range of stakeholders - including employees, customers, suppliers, regulators, local communities, and industry associations - to understand their expectations and address their concerns. We maintain open communication channels, conduct regular stakeholder surveys, and participate in industry forums to share best practices and learn from peers. Our supplier engagement program promotes responsible sourcing, environmental compliance, and fair labor practices throughout our supply chain. By working together with our partners, we amplify our impact and drive systemic change across the battery industry.
